The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) has announced a $2.8 million project to resurface and improve a 3.7-mile stretch of Highway 50 in Walworth County. The work, set to begin on September 2, will take place between Highway 67 and Lake Lawn Drive in the City of Delavan.

Planned improvements include the removal and replacement of asphalt pavement, upgraded traffic signals, improved pedestrian accommodations, storm sewer cleaning and repairs, installation of a new guardrail over the Delavan Lake Inlet bridge, as well as new pavement markings and signing.

During construction, Highway 50 between Highway 67 and Lake Lawn Drive will be closed to through traffic. However, access for local businesses and residents along the route will remain available. A detour using Highway 67 and Interstate 43 will be marked for drivers needing to bypass the closure.

The project is expected to be completed by mid-fall 2025, with all timelines dependent on weather conditions.

For more information about the project or updates as work progresses, residents can visit the project webpage.
