Lake Geneva Schools is set to honor outstanding teachers and support staff for their contributions to the education community. The Directors of Curriculum and Instruction announced that five individuals who have made significant impacts on students and colleagues will be recognized at the annual staff banquet in May.
The awards include categories for Teacher of the Year in both Lake Geneva Joint #1 School District and Lake Geneva - Genoa City Union (Badger) High School District. Additionally, there will be a Special Services Teacher of the Year award, recognizing those who serve in roles such as special education, interventionists, speech-language pathologists, school counselors, psychologists, nurses, or social workers. Support Staff of the Year will also be awarded in both districts.
Nominations can be submitted through an online form by March 7th, 2025. The form asks nominators to detail why they believe their nominee deserves recognition, with emphasis on specific examples of impact on student learning and engagement, contributions to the school community, and commitment to professional development.
The directors expressed encouragement for nominations stating: "We encourage you to nominate a deserving individual for this important recognition. Our schools are filled with talented educators who work tirelessly to support our students, and this award is a way for us to show our appreciation and gratitude."
This initiative underscores the district's commitment to acknowledging the hard work and dedication of its educational professionals.
