Walworth County is seeking volunteers for two upcoming park stewardship events in October. The first event, a prairie seed collection, will take place at Price Park Conservancy in Elkhorn on Friday, October 10, from 1 to 3 p.m. Participants will collect plant seeds that will be used for future plantings. All ages are welcome to participate, but children under 18 must be accompanied by a chaperone. Organizers say this event offers an opportunity for service hours and conservation field experience.

The second event is scheduled for October 17 at White River County Park in Lake Geneva from 9 a.m. to noon. Volunteers will help remove invasive plant species and assist with native planting efforts.

Anyone interested in volunteering can contact Volunteer Services Coordinator Karin Texidor at 262-741-4223 or apply online.
