The Core Knowledge Language Arts (CKLA) curriculum is being implemented in the district's elementary schools, aiming to enhance students' reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills. It also covers important topics in history, science, and literature. The district emphasizes the importance of parental involvement in supporting children's learning both at school and at home.

Erin Zigler, Director of Curriculum and Instruction, encourages parents to create a conducive environment for writing at home by providing a quiet space and necessary materials. Parents are advised to engage with their children through regular conversations to foster good listening and speaking habits. Reviewing CKLA materials together is also recommended.

Zigler stresses that "by working together, we can help your child develop a strong foundation in language arts and knowledge across various subjects." Parents are encouraged to reach out if they have questions or need further resources.

The collaboration between parents and educators is seen as vital for enhancing the educational experience of students using the CKLA curriculum.
