Watertown High School has been acknowledged by the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) for its outstanding commitment to educational athletics. The school achieved Level 3 status in the NFHS School Honor Roll Program for the 2023-24 academic year, becoming the second school in Wisconsin and the 30th nationwide to receive this honor.

The recognition reflects Watertown High School's dedication to its students and education-based programs. The school's coaches have access to a research-based, student-centered curriculum designed to support their roles as interscholastic coaches. Kelley Piasecki, WHS Administrative Assistant, plays a crucial role in assisting coaches with course completion, certification requirements, and record keeping related to the NFHS professional development program.

Athletic Director and Assistant Principal Dr. Jamie Koepp expressed pride in the coaching staff's professionalism and commitment to self-improvement through professional development. "The coaching staff at Watertown High School continues to display an unmatched, high level of professionalism, commitment, and self-reflection," said Koepp. He also emphasized the importance of education-based athletics within the school and community.

"Education-based athletics in Watertown is something our school and community takes great pride in," Koepp stated. "NFHS offers a platform for coaches to improve in their craft through meaningful courses and we appreciate the opportunity to take part in it."

Koepp highlighted the significance of this achievement for both Watertown Unified School District (WUSD) and the local community: "We are excited and proud to be recognized as the 2nd school in Wisconsin to have earned Level 3 status within the NFHS School Honor Roll Program."

This accomplishment is marked by all three NFHS banners now displayed prominently in Watertown High School's gymnasium.
