Mark McKee has been named Alumnus of the Year by Maranatha Baptist University. McKee, who graduated from Maranatha Baptist Bible College with a degree in Elementary Education and an emphasis in Physical Education, has spent four decades working at Heritage Hall Christian School in Muncie, Indiana. He currently teaches sixth grade.

Throughout his career, McKee has coached basketball for all age groups over thirty years and continues to support sports teams such as the Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers. He is recognized for his long-term commitment to Christian education and involvement with students.

David Stein, administrator at Heritage Hall Christian School, commented on the recognition: “I have worked with Mark for 10 years at Heritage Hall Christian School. This is a well-deserved recognition for Mark for all his years of ministry in Christian Education. He is a multi-talented guy with a faithful heart for ministry. He teaches, and has coached some very successful basketball teams over the years. He has touched the lives of many students as well as parents and staff for the cause of Christ. He has been a model of Christlikeness.”

In addition to his work at the school, McKee serves at Grace Baptist Church where he has held roles such as Awana leader, youth leader, adult Sunday school teacher, and is currently part of the technical team responsible for sound and livestream systems.

McKee married Lisa Steele in June 1991. The couple’s three children are also graduates of Maranatha Baptist University. They have five grandchildren.

McKee cites Philippians 1:6 as central to his mission: “Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.”

The university thanked McKee for his dedication to home, church, and school during his forty-year career.
