Maranatha University has announced the appointment of Todd Valeria as the new Vice President of Marketing. Valeria, with over thirty years of experience in marketing, project management, and corporate identity, is set to bring his wealth of expertise to the university's executive leadership team.
Prior to joining Maranatha, Valeria served as the Vice President of Creative Marketing for Colony Brands, Inc. in Wisconsin. At Colony Brands, he oversaw marketing strategies for multiple retail brands and led a team of over 90 professionals. His career has seen him excel in various marketing roles, culminating in senior executive leadership positions.
Describing Valeria's appointment as pivotal, Maranatha's CEO, Dr. Matt Davis, expressed his admiration for Valeria's dedication to the university and his commitment to the mission. Davis stated, "His love for Maranatha, passion to serve the Lord faithfully, and sensitivity to God’s leading are quite inspiring to witness."
In his new role, Valeria will play a key part in the restructuring of Maranatha's marketing efforts. The university's former Communications Department has transformed into the Marketing Division, expanding its scope to lead marketing initiatives across operational departments and academic units. Additionally, Valeria will oversee relationships with key marketing partners, underscoring the strategic importance of these collaborations.
Reflecting on his transition into ministry at Maranatha, Valeria shared, "I believe Maranatha is where God wants me to be. I want to follow His will with my profession which will echo eternally by faithfully serving and providing directly and indirectly in the guiding, leading, and mentoring of young Christians."
Valeria's appointment marks a new era for Maranatha's marketing efforts, with Dr. Davis acknowledging the significant contributions of Jonathan Sheeley, the outgoing Director of Communications. Davis expressed gratitude for Sheeley's service, noting his role in advancing Maranatha's capabilities in student recruitment and communications.
Looking ahead, Maranatha's Vice President of Advancement, Tim McPhillips, expressed enthusiasm for working alongside Valeria in ministry, stating, "Todd brings a passion for ministry that reflects the heartbeat and mission of Maranatha."
As Valeria prepares to assume his new role, his connection to Maranatha extends beyond his professional duties. Two of his children are current students at the university, solidifying the Valeria family's place within the Maranatha community. Valeria is set to begin his full-time on-campus service on July 1st, marking the start of a new chapter in Maranatha's marketing leadership.
