The District Spelling Bee took place on January 22 at Lake Geneva Middle School. Students from various schools participated in the event.
From Star Center, Frankie Montemurro and Ethan Smith were among the participants. Eastview was represented by Richard Parker, Sammy Borghgraef, Tommy Cincotta, Larry Lawson, and Lincoln Himebauch. Participants from LGMS included Dariana Marrero-Castanon, Zach Spear, Liliana Vazquez, Amelia Kolb, Sam Saunders, Eli Sanders, Alyvia Rouse, Riley Elverman, Naomi Tost, Etta Nafziger, and T.J. Montemurro.
The winners of the competition were announced as follows: Naomi Tost secured 1st place; T.J. Montemurro achieved 2nd place; Riley Elverman took 3rd place; and Sam Saunders finished in 4th place.
Naomi Tost and T.J. Montemurro will represent Lake Geneva School District at the CESA 2 Regional Spelling Bee scheduled for February 5 at Delavan-Darien High School.
