Watertown Unified School District honors staff for milestone anniversaries

The Watertown Unified School District (WUSD) hosted a special event on Tuesday at Watertown High School to welcome staff members back after summer break and to celebrate the start of the 2024-25 school year. The event featured welcoming remarks by Watertown Public Library Director Peg Checkai, School Board Vice-President David Schroeder, Human Resources Director Margaret Brady, and Superintendent Dr. Jarred Burke. Employees were recognized for their years of service to the WUSD.

The number of staff members celebrating milestone anniversaries with the WUSD includes 63 employees who have completed one year of service; 23 employees completing five years of service; 19 employees completing ten years of service; six employees completing fifteen years of service; and ten employees completing twenty years of service. Special recognition was also given to staff members for completing 25, 30, 35, and 40 years of service:

*25 years of service: Lisa Clark, Terri Danner, Amy Marchant, Scot Meyer, Cinnamon Gifford, Michelle Webster, Chris Weddig, and Cynthia Weisbecker

*30 years of service: Brad Clark, Peggy Hackney, Diane McCormack, Paul Minning, and Deborah Pfeifer

*35 years of service: Sue Roth

*40 years of service: Gloria McDonald

"Thank you to these amazing individuals for their many years of service," said an official statement from WUSD. "And for the positive impact they have made, and continue to make, in so many lives."
