Since 1986, the Elkhorn Area High School Scholarship Foundation has awarded nearly $5 million to graduates of the Elkhorn Area School District (EASD). For the Class of 2024, scholarships amounted to a total of $347,000. Further information about the Foundation and its initiatives can be found at eahsscholarships.com under “Stories Behind the Scholarships.” The Foundation encourages tax-deductible donations to support future awards.
The recipients of various scholarships for 2024 are as follows:
**Summa Cum Laude**
- Arthur C. & Vira Desing Valedictorian Award: Paige Nelson
- Robert & Mildred Getzen Salutatorian Award: Logan Weitzel
**Magna Cum Laude**
- Academic Excellence Award: Caleb Greving, Myles Gunderson
Other notable scholarships include:
- Advocate Aurora Burlington Lakeland Medical Staff Scholarship: Michaela Fletcher
- America’s Liquor LLC Scholarship: Tomas Huerta
- Barbara A. Fischer Bright Futures Scholarship: Brenda Ontiveros Castro

Additionally, the EAHS Scholarship Foundation provides post-graduate scholarships to EASD alumni currently enrolled in college or university. This year, $11,000 was awarded in alumni scholarships.
