The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is planning a project to replace 3.27 miles of pavement on WIS 11 in Walworth County. The department will hold a public involvement meeting to discuss the proposed work, answer questions, and collect feedback from community members.

The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, October 1, 2025, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Town Hall in the Town of Spring Prairie, located at N6097 WI-120, Elkhorn, WI 53121.

According to WisDOT, the project aims to address issues with deteriorating pavement conditions and declining ride quality. It also seeks to update outdated guardrails and cross-culverts to improve long-term safety and operation along the route.

Planned improvements include replacing existing pavement with new concrete pavement, reconstructing roadside ditches, constructing curb and gutter at select locations to minimize right-of-way impact, replacing ten cross culverts and six guardrails, as well as updating signs and pavement markings.

During construction, a detour for through traffic is likely. Both temporary and permanent right-of-way acquisition may be required along the corridor. Construction is expected to begin in 2030 but could start in 2029 if funding becomes available.

Bob Bellin, P.E., Project Manager for WisDOT, provided contact information for those seeking more details about the project or wishing to provide input.
