On May 2, 2025, Kenney Hedrick gave his Senior Euphonium Recital as part of the requirements for a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music at Maranatha Baptist University. The program included solo and collaborative pieces spanning different musical periods, as well as sacred music. Two works were arranged by Joel Montgomery, an alumnus of the university.

Maranatha music faculty commented on the performance: Kenney “played beautifully” and his “diverse repertoire was engaging.” They added that Kenney “exhibited confidence and musicianship!”

The recital was prepared under the guidance of Dr. David Brown. Accompanists Emma Bateman and Grace VanRaden joined Hedrick for the performance. Following graduation, Hedrick has married and is currently seeking a position as a church music director.

The recital featured several notable pieces. Donald White’s “Lyric Suite,” described as demanding due to its complex rhythms and interplay between euphonium and piano, was performed. Luigi Denza’s “Funiculi Funicula,” arranged by Herbert L. Clarke, showcased rapid passages and expressive phrasing for the soloist. Franz Schubert’s “Arpeggione Sonata Mv. I,” arranged by David Werden, highlighted melodic lines adapted for the euphonium.
