Several members of the Watertown Unified School District (WUSD) Board of Education and Superintendent Jarred Burke are attending the School Boards for Academic Excellence Summer Break Conference in Covington, Kentucky. The event has sparked conversation on social media due to some sponsoring groups' political associations. However, the conference is described as nonpartisan and focused on professional learning.

The conference aims to bring together school board members and administrators nationwide to discuss public education challenges and opportunities. "We believe it is essential to remain informed when it comes to the trends affecting public schools nationwide," stated WUSD School Board President Craig Wortman and Superintendent Jarred Burke.

Attendees plan to present their insights at the upcoming board meeting scheduled for Monday, July 28.
