Fort HealthCare has announced the recipients of its 2025 scholarships, totaling nearly $60,000. These scholarships support students pursuing degrees in healthcare fields aligned with Fort HealthCare's mission. The awards are funded by donations from benefactors and contributions made in honor or memory of individuals.
The Health Career Advancing Scholarships, valued at $2,000 each, were awarded to Brooke Hartwig and Eli Koehler. Three high school students—Ashlyn Enke, Iris Harstford, and Breleigh Mengel—received $2,000 each for pursuing careers in healthcare.
Maritza Alvarado and Summer Semrau were granted $1,000 each through the Health Career Scholarship for associate degree programs. Joanna Guevera was honored with the Woody Finn Memorial Scholarship of $2,000 for her volunteer service.
Five Fort Memorial Hospital Medical Staff Scholarships of $2,000 each were given to Jessica Besch, Kaylee Farrar, Matthew Ketterhagen, Lucien Pomazak, and Chloe Smith. Four General Scholarships of $1,000 each went to Kateri Kawleski, Matthew Ketterhagen (also a recipient), Savannah Vind, and Hadley Wendorff.
The Scott W. Hulstein Scholarship awarded nine recipients—Haley Bristol among them—with $1,000 each. Jacobson Scholarships were given to Grecia Hernandez ($500) and Dawn Hove ($1,000).
Cynthia McKinley Kolasinski Scholarships were distributed among five students including Brooke Hartwig and Olivia Riemer at amounts ranging from $500 to $1,000. Estelle Stinson Chase & Peter A. Chase Scholarships provided two awards of $1,250 each to Jadyn Splittgerber and Juanita Tarp.
Abigail Frame received the Wanda L. Draeger Nursing Scholarship worth $1,000. The Arthur and Nancy Nesbitt Nursing Scholarship supported ten recipients including Maritza Alvarado with awards of $1,000 each.
Lastly, Maritza Alvarado was also awarded the Florence Falk Nursing Scholarship valued at $1,640.
