Fort HealthCare has been recognized with a 2024 Performance Leadership Award for excellence in Outcomes by The Chartis Center for Rural Health. This announcement coincides with National Rural Health Day, highlighting the achievements of rural hospitals across the nation.

Michael Anderson, MD, President & CEO of Fort HealthCare, expressed his pride in receiving the award. "We’re honored to receive this award for excellence in outcomes," he stated. "This recognition is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team in providing exceptional care and improving the health of our community. It’s rewarding to see our efforts make a real difference, and we’re proud to celebrate this achievement."

The awards are determined through the Chartis Rural Hospital Performance INDEX, which provides an objective framework for evaluating rural hospital performance. The INDEX is used by various stakeholders including rural hospitals, health systems with rural footprints, hospital associations, and state offices of rural health to assess performance across areas impacting operations and finance.

Troy Brown from The Chartis Center for Rural Health commented on the significance of these awards: “The Performance Leadership Awards capture the commitment, diligence, and innovation with which America’s rural hospitals approach the delivery of care within their communities,” he said. “It’s a tremendous honor to be able to recognize the efforts of this year’s award winners and celebrate their achievement as part of National Rural Health Day.”
