The Watertown Unified School District (WUSD) Board of Education recently reviewed the results of a community survey conducted by School Perceptions. The survey gathered input from area residents regarding the district’s operations and future planning.
On December 1, 2025, representatives from School Perceptions presented the survey findings to the Board. The discussion included consideration of a possible operational referendum that could be put before voters in April 2026. The Board plans to continue reviewing the survey data at its meeting on December 10, 2025, with an additional discussion about potential tax impacts scheduled for December 15, 2025. A final decision on whether to proceed with a referendum must be made by January 27, 2026.
Superintendent Dr. Jarred Burke encouraged ongoing community engagement in this process. “We encourage all of you to stay engaged regarding this important issue. Please contact me or any of our board members with questions you may have. Your questions and feedback help guide our decision-making,” Burke stated.
Community members can view the full results of the survey on the district’s website at https://www.watertown.k12.wi.us/page/spring-referendum.
Dr. Burke also expressed appreciation for local support: “Thank you to our students, parents, staff, and community members for your ongoing support. Our district grows stronger because we value our tradition of great schools and continue our work to embrace the innovation and transformation needed to guide our students into a bright and successful future.”
