Road work is scheduled to begin on South Lincoln Street at Deere Road starting October 6, 2025. The project will involve installing utilities such as sanitary sewer and water main lines. These installations are necessary for a planned gas station, retail center, and apartment complex that will be built on the east side of South Lincoln Street, just north of the Department of Motor Vehicles.
During construction, traffic will be managed through single-lane flagging operations. The roadway will remain open for local traffic only, but drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes to avoid delays. The city expects the work to be finished by Wednesday, October 8th.
