Reagan Bill, Teaching Assistant in the Department of Applied Science | Maranatha Baptist University
Reagan Bill has been appointed as the new Teaching Assistant in the Department of Applied Science at Maranatha Baptist University. Bill, originally from Ringgold, Louisiana, grew up at Southland Christian Ministries and was involved in various church and camp activities from a young age.
Bill shared her enthusiasm for science and teaching: “As a biology major, I have developed a love for science, and in being able to help with various study groups.” She also noted her focus on helping students who find scientific concepts challenging. “I have also developed a love for teaching scientific concepts in a way that is easier to understand.”
In her new position, Bill will assist students with data analysis and concept comprehension. She will also prepare, supervise, and teach General Biology I and II, Microbiology, and Physics laboratory sessions.
Dr. Lane Hansel, Chair of the Department of Applied Science, expressed support for Bill’s appointment. “We are thrilled to welcome Miss Reagan Bill to the Applied Science faculty this fall. A graduate of MBU with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, Miss Bill is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Biological Sciences from Clemson University.
Miss Bill brings valuable experience to the department, having served for three years as a lab assistant in Applied Science. In that role, she played a key part in running lab sessions, facilitating study groups, and supervising and training new lab assistants. During her senior year, she completed a capstone project focused on DNA extraction from plant cells and plasmid work in E. coli, demonstrating her strong foundation in molecular biology techniques.
Her passion for both science and teaching is evident, and she is deeply committed to helping students thrive in their academic and professional journeys. We are excited to have her on board and look forward to the impact she will have on our students and the department.”
