The Maranatha Baptist University Class of 2025 celebrated their commencement ceremony on May 9, marking the institution's 56th such event. The ceremony began with faculty-staff member Peter Wright playing a well-known anthem by Frances Ridley Havergal, setting the tone for the procession of graduates into the gymnasium.

Dr. David Brown led attendees in singing Charles Wesley’s "Rejoice, the Lord is King," followed by CEO Dr. Matthew Davis expressing gratitude for the day and the graduates' achievements. He prayed for blessings on their future endeavors.

Dr. Davis acknowledged various groups present, including faculty, parents, grandparents, and members of the Board of Trustees. He announced a Commencement Offering aimed at raising $10,000 for dormitory furniture.

Chancellor Marty Marriott read from 1 Corinthians 15:50-58, emphasizing themes of human transience and victory over death through Jesus Christ. This was followed by Joseph Greene's performance of "In Faith I Follow."

President Dr. David Anderson delivered the commencement address, highlighting a "final test" that involves fulfilling personal tasks designed by God. His message was based on imperatives from 1 Corinthians 16:10-24.

During the ceremony, Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Thomas Graham recognized students who achieved academic excellence and announced this year's three-way tie for highest GPA among Hannah Hartfelder, Hannah Shore, and Sarah Weiss.

The Founder’s Awards were presented to Alissa Foerster and Daniel Sample for exemplifying Maranatha Baptist University's spirit and purpose. Andrew Wright received the President’s Award for his academic abilities and dedication to Gospel ministry.

The Class of 2025 consisted of 205 students from diverse backgrounds who earned a total of 216 certificates or degrees. A posthumous degree was awarded to Hannah Glass in education, with her parents receiving it on her behalf.

An honorary Doctor of Letters degree was bestowed upon Mrs. Kathy Jackson in recognition of her contributions alongside her husband, Board Chair Emeritus Dr. Douglas Jackson.

The ceremony concluded with musical performances and prayers as graduates exited to pursue new opportunities while honoring their accomplishments through traditional celebrations like throwing mortarboards and ringing bells.
