Fort Memorial Hospital in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, has been recognized as one of the 2025 Top 100 Rural & Community Hospitals by The Chartis Center for Rural Health. This award highlights exceptional performance among rural hospitals across the nation based on the Chartis Rural Hospital Performance INDEX. Notably, only four rural hospitals in Wisconsin received this recognition.
James Nelson, CFO and Senior Vice President of Finance & Strategic Development at Fort HealthCare, expressed pride in receiving the honor. "We are honored to be recognized as one of the 2025 Top 100 Rural & Community Hospitals in the country, as well as one of only four in the state," he stated. He praised employees for their dedication to delivering high-quality care locally and serving both patients and the broader community.
Michael Topchik, Executive Director of The Chartis Center for Rural Health, explained the significance of the award program. “The Top 100 Rural & Community Hospitals award program elevates the very best performers and helps create a roadmap for those seeking to improve financial and operational performance while continuing to care for the communities they serve,” he said. This year marks a decade since The Chartis Center began recognizing these top-performing hospitals.
