Maranatha Baptist University’s Department of Music has proudly declared Allie Morken as the 2024 Outstanding Senior Musician. The selection process involved a thorough assessment by the music faculty, considering various factors such as musicianship, academic performance, spiritual qualities, character traits, and Christian service.

Morken, who pursued a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music with specializations in Piano Pedagogy and Early Childhood Music, demonstrated exceptional dedication and talent throughout her academic journey. She actively contributed to the Maranatha Music Prep School by teaching private and group music lessons, showcasing her commitment to music education.

Ruth Brown, reflecting on her experience working with Morken, praised her diligence, eagerness to learn, faithfulness, and humility. Brown highlighted Morken’s reliability and continuous improvement in piano technique and musicality, emphasizing her readiness to take on responsibilities and her positive impact on the college community.

Dr. David Brown, Morken’s band and choir director, commended her as a hardworking, focused, and driven individual who consistently pursued excellence in all her endeavors. Brown lauded Morken’s exceptional work ethic, leadership skills, and willingness to seek assistance when needed. He expressed his anticipation for Morken’s future endeavors and the positive influence she will have beyond her university years.

Following her graduation, Morken intends to remain in the area, accepting a position as an administrative assistant in two academic departments at Maranatha, while also continuing her teaching role in the Music Prep School.
