The Delavan-Darien School District (DDSD) has announced the appointment of Jaymee Thompson as the new Teaching & Learning Director, effective July 1, 2024. Thompson brings over a decade of experience in K-12 public education, having served as both an educator and a school leader.

Thompson’s career began in the School District of Beloit, where she taught middle school math from 2012 to 2016. Her licensure includes certifications as an elementary teacher, principal, curriculum director, and superintendent.

“I am thrilled to join the Delavan-Darien School District as the new Teaching & Learning Director,” said Thompson. “I am passionate about teaching and learning and look forward to applying my experience to support our students and staff. Together, we will work to create an engaging and enriching educational environment.”

DDSD’s new superintendent, Drew Halbesma, expressed his enthusiasm about Thompson’s appointment. “We are very excited to welcome Jaymee Thompson to our team. Her vast experience and dedication to student achievement will be invaluable as we strive to help our district thrive academically. I look forward to collaborating with her to enhance the educational experience for all our students.”

Thompson’s proven track record and commitment to educational excellence make her a valuable addition to DDSD. The district is confident that under her leadership, the Teaching & Learning Department will continue to grow and support the academic success of all students.
